Work Visa Canada
Working in Canada is an attractive option for many skilled foreign workers around the world. Every year, nearly 200,000 skilled foreign workers come to work in Canada on a temporary Canadian work permit.Canada work visas are issued under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The TFWP is designed to help Canadian employers recruit foreign workers in response to labor shortages.
The TFWP consists of four components:
Highly qualified workers, low-skilled workers, seasonal agricultural workers program and resident caregiver program. Foreign workers must have an approved job before working in Canada under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
The Canada-based LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) visa does not require a point system to fall or qualify. Every year, thousands of foreign workers travel to Canada to work temporarily with an LMIA-based visa. To work temporarily in Canada, the visa applicant must have an offer of employment or a contract of employment from a Canadian employer and a positive LMO from ESDC. However, in some jobs, the LMIA does not require.
